S-Magazine iPad app

S-Magazine iPad app

Leica Camera released a new iPad app named S-Magazine, is a new platform for professional photographers to freely publish their latest pictures. The S-Magazine presents current ad campaigns and editorial photo series from international photographers.

Beyond that, the S-Magazine reflects current trends in modern commercial photography – from fashion and beauty to interior design and still lifes. This essential guide for professional photographers and a great source of inspiration for me is available through iTunes. But first I have to get my hands on the next iPad to enjoy these nice publications.

Len again

Len again

It’s good to have Len around all the time. Especially in combination with my Leica. They make a perfect couple to carry with you every day. when that finger starts to get itchy on the camera.

Here are a couple shots from random occasions though all taken with the same film. These photos were taken with a Leica M3 camera, 50mm Summicron lens, F2 wide open, Fuji Superia 200 and Ilford XP2 400 ISO film. And scanned with an Epson Perfection V500 scanner.

Go see.

APC no.6 photos

APC no.6 photos

What a lovely day for some outdoor analog shooting with APC friends! A warm welcome to two new participants Hanke and Brian. Great to have them on the APC bandwagon. I am looking forward to see your analog photos.

It’s not easy to set a date in the Netherlands to do some outdoor shooting a couple weeks upfront the actual event. Lucky for us we had the perfect after summer weather. Jeff and Isabel had the idea to head for the woods to capture the autumn look. Splendid idea!

We had a nice stroll through the Kralingse Bos in Rotterdam and yeah, we shot some analog photos and I would like to share mine taken during APC no.6.

Wereld van Witte de With

Wereld van Witte de With

I recently developed a roll of film with a lot of different happenings on it. One of them was the Wereld van Witte de With Festival in Rotterdam. Here are a couple analog photos from that event.

These photos were taken with a Leica M3 camera, Summicron 50mm lens and Fuji Superia 800 film. the negatives were scanned with the Epson Perfection V500.

Hope to post some more shots this weekend. Be good all.

Lowlands in analog retrospect

Lowlands in analog retrospect

Finally, my Lowlands 2011 photos are here. These photos where taken with a Leica M3 camera with a Leica 50mm Summicron lens. I used two kinds of film. Fuji Velvia 100 and Fuji Provia 100. I had the Provia 100 crossed during development.

I want to share a little selection with you guys because it took me so long to produce these scans. What are your thoughts? Do you like them? I pretty much do.

Looking back at the festival I wish I had taken more time to shoot good photos. Wandering on my own for a couple of hours just to get that one shot. Oh well, there is always a next Lowlands.

More than meets the eye

More than meets the eye

How cool! I spotted this guy at Lowlands with an Autobot and Decepticon Transformers logo on his calves.

I just had to make a photo of it.

See it in hi-res in my Flickr photostream.

Roadtrip in b+w

Roadtrip in b+w

I went on a 1 week camper roadtrip with 3 friends a couple weeks ago. It was a blast! Driving +4.000 km in a really shitty camper, fridge stuffed with warm beer, walking through village centres, eating local dishes, stopping over at some classic packed camping sites… golden.

Our main destination was the Monegros Desert Festival, which was unlike! I brought my Leica M3 with me to shoot some of the roadtrip. Here are the first results. Others will follow soon.

These photos were taken with a Leica M3, 50mm Summicron and Fuji NeoPan 1600 film. The film is causing the somwhat heavy grain on the photos. Hope you like them.

Random 3

Random 3

I’m back from the roadtrip which was totally awesome. Preparing a post about it later on when my rolls of film are developed. But that’s not what this post is about.

When I openened my computer I discovered these 3 photos featuring my better half which were on my last developed roll of film. Simply didn’t want to hold these back. So voila. Hope you like them.

For those who are interested. These were shot with a Leica M3, 50mm Summicron, HP5 Plus 400 film and red + uv filter. Have you peeked on my Flickr lately? You really should. I just freshened up my Leica M3 set a bit.

Koninginnedag Oranjebitter 2011

Koninginnedag Oranjebitter 2011

Koninginnedag / Queensday 2011 was a delight. As always during my day started at the Hoogstraat where friends gather for a nice and cold beer and tastefull water pipe.

Oranjebitter was my next stop where joyfull people where partying their asses off. I took my Leica with me that day and shot some photos with a Lomography Redscale film while I was still able to. Some turned out very nice. See them in the full post.

Want to know more about the camera settings? Click on the photo to head for my Flickr. The info is all there.

Leica sweetness

Leica sweetness

Len and I went out on the Vespa last Sunday for a breakfast in the Euromast tower followed by a nice ride through our city. A lovely day.

That day we figured out some future holiday plans (Nepal/Tibet, Scandinavia, France, Argentina) and she took this kick-ass photo of me holding my Leica M3 camera. I think I’ll use this one as my APC profile photo from now on.

Have a look at my Leica M3 photostream on Flickr and see what kind of photos it shoots.

Jack

Jack

This is a photo from my last developed roll. Didn’t want to hold it back. Jack is simply looking awesome in this shot!

I guess it was taken on one of our famous Lazy Sundays where ‘dolce far niente’ rules in our apartment. I love these days.

Analog photos shot in Berlin

Analog photos shot in Berlin

My roll of film got developed at the end of last week. It had some photos from our trip to Berlin on it. Stoked as I was I immediately started scanning them. Each one of them reminds me how happy I am with my old Leica camera.

These were taken with a Leica M3, 50mm Summicron and Kodak T-Max400 film pushed 2 stops. Scanned with an Epson Perfection V500 scanner.

Walking the streets of Paris

Walking the streets of Paris

I recently scanned some film containing pictures from our trip to Paris. Here are some of the results. We also shot some 8mm footage yet these still have to find their way to Japan for some processing. Maybe soon.

Daily Essentials

Daily Essentials

Never ever go outside without. These are my daily essentials for business and for pleasure. Bose On-Ear headphones, a HD camera, iPhone, Leica camera, USB stick, rolls of film, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Moleskine notebook, creditcard holder and some keys. All packed in my Incase Skate Messenger Bag.

Hit the streets again

Hit the streets again

The sun is shining, I still have some more days off, Queens day is this coming Friday, hanging out with my friends… Guess I’ll be taking my Leica outside for some fresh air. The poor fella was a bit dusty after four months of neglectance. Time to shine again! Expect the outcome in a week or two.
