I’m honoured to present the 5th entry in the Glimpse Series. Jorrit van Steijn went crazy for Cloud Cuckoo with his own Diana Mini. Here’s his story.
‘When I saw the ad from Cloud Cuckoo for joining the Glimpse project I immediately wanted to get involved. Because it combines two of my favorite things; Lomography and free film. No just kidding about the free roll of film, of course.
I wanted to get my hands on the Diana F+, as the first description of Glimpse told you would borrow to shoot your roll of film with. I never tried that camera before and was curious.
Only, there was a small change of plans; the participants wouldn’t borrow a F+ but a Diana Mini instead. A distinctive little camera, I bought myself half a year ago.
Even though I was familiar with the beloved Diana Mini, I was a little anxious about the results. The beauty of Lomography, and at the same time the thing I was nervous about, is that you’ll never know what your photos will turn out to be. This was the first time I had to photograph with a certain goal; I had spectators and wasn’t just shooting for my own fun.
As the results came in, I was quite satisfied with most of the pictures. The photos are mostly taken while I was travelling, as I make quite some miles to work as an applied psychologist. Furthermore they were shot when I was relaxing with friends and family, in Antwerp, Leiden, The Hague and Amsterdam.
I hope you will enjoy my Glimpse, and if you are interested in more Lomographic pictures of me, visit my Lomohome at http://www.lomography.com/homes/pavlov.’
