Glimpse by CJ de Melker

The second Glimpse is here! CJ de Melker, creative director at Sniper-X in Rotterdam did a Glimpse for the Cloud Cuckoo x Lomography Glimpse Series project. His story: Glimpse brings back memories.

Back in the days analogue photography didn’t scare me, I aimed and took my pictures without thinking of the outcome. Then came the digital era which took that experience away, I took my picture, a couple more (just in case) looked at the results and erased the failed ones.

Then Cloud Cuckoo’s Glimpse came along, and I got scared. Is this a right angle and what about the light? Is the distance set correctly and is this the picture I want because I only have 36 times for the perfect shot. Finally I got my answer to that last question, no I did not get the perfect shot, bummer? \\\”h#ll no\\\” this Glimpse session brought back my analogue memories.

After these memories I want more, at this moment I’m reading all about analogue photography, lomography and very soon I’ll have my own Lomography Camera (only this time no pretty Cloud Cuckoo pink edition)! So thanks CloudCuckoo for dusting off those memories and getting my inspired, but my biggest inspiration source has yet to come! Want to know what that source will be, take a good look at my Glimpse pictures and you’ll find out.

And to really end this second Glimpse edition here’s a little bit about me, myself and I. I go by the name CJ de Melker and I’m the Creative-Director @SniperX (yes that’s a twitter @) an advertising agency based in Rotterdam the Netherlands. If you want to know more about me, follow me or even want to get more personal? All you got to do is type in my name in a Google search bar near you and there you will find me.

Enjoy my week of Glimpse!

This Glimpse by CJ was shot with a Lomography Diana Mini in combination with a Lomography Color Negative 400 35mm film. A couple color filters were used during shooting.
