Yeah, finally! New Glimpse Series coming up.

After a short break it’s about time to pick up the pace again and produce some new Lomography Glimpse Series. Hope to post some nice series in the coming weeks.

Finally, a new Lomography Glimpse Serie on Cloud Cuckoo. This one was shot by Hanke Arkenbout. Hanke is a graphic designer from Rotterdam. She is a sucker for analog photography and shoots awesome photos. Hanke recently applied to join the Analog Photo Collective but wasn’t able to join our previous meetup but she will be present on the next. A big welcome to Hanke! Besides the APC meetups she also wanted to participate in the Glimpse Series so I hooked her up with the Diana Mini for a week and here it is. Enjoy her Glimpse.

‘First of all, I really like the idea of this Glimpse-Project, any project containing analog film is a great project I think : ). I got this tiny pink Diana camera to do my Glimpse with.

Fellow APC member and experienced Lomo photographer Jeroen Jeremiasse was kind enough to participate in the Cloud Cuckoo x Lomography NL Glimpse project.

Enjoy his story and his Glimpse photos. He shot them with his LC-A+ camera and used a 100 X-Pro Chrome film.  

There it is! The Glimpse by Creative Allrounder Ines Fris. Ines asked me some time ago to participate in the Cloud Cuckoo X Lomography Glimpse Series and somewhere in May I got the chance to hook her up with a Diana Mini camera.

I’m pretty excited about this series outcome especially for someone who’s not so familiar with shooting film and Lomography in particular. I know she isn’t as excited as I am. But this seems to be a key charateristic for every creative ; )

Here’s Miss Fris her story and most of all her Glimpse.

I remember when I asked filmmaker Tenny Tenzer to contribute in the Glimpse Series. He got interested by the Glimpse idea without seeing any examples. Which is quite cool since he is an all digital kind of guy. Here’s his Glimpse and his story.

To be quite honest, I’ve got nothing with analogue pictures… untill I got hold of the Lomo.

In my profession as a freelance videojournalist I mainy work with digital moving pictures made by HD videocamera’s and more recently the Canon 5D Mk2. But I’ve never worked with a nostalgical device like a analogue photocamera. And man, it’s hard…

I’m honoured to present the 5th entry in the Glimpse Series. Jorrit van Steijn went crazy for Cloud Cuckoo with his own Diana Mini. Here’s his story.

‘When I saw the ad from Cloud Cuckoo for joining the Glimpse project I immediately wanted to get involved. Because it combines two of my favorite things; Lomography and free film. No just kidding about the free roll of film, of course.

I wanted to get my hands on the Diana F+, as the first description of Glimpse told you would borrow to shoot your roll of film with. I never tried that camera before and was curious.

Finally, a new Glimpse is here. Surfer Kalle Carranza from Finland was kind enough to document a week of his life for the Cloud Cuckoo x Lomography Netherlands Glimpse Series project.

Kalle Carranza was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Son to a Mexican father and a Finnish mother he grew up in Mexico’s Pacific Ocean coastline. Kalle became a professional surfer at the age of 19 and traveled the world surfing for 10 years. Won Mexican Nationals, was voted as one of the top 100 young surfers in the world by U.S. magazine Surfer Magazine, and was featured in numerous enditorial content in dozens of magazines around the world.  

Frank Nanninga, filmmaker from Zoetermeer is the guy who is responsible for the third Glimpse for Cloud Cuckoo x Lomography Netherlands Glimpse Series project. Here his his story:

My life is all about images, especially moving ones. In everything lies a possibility for creative ideas for new movies. It all begins with capturing a certain image whether it’s with the eye or in the mind. The process is fairly the same as capturing a photo. You are looking for something outstanding what needs to be captured forever.

The second Glimpse is here! CJ de Melker, creative director at Sniper-X in Rotterdam did a Glimpse for the Cloud Cuckoo x Lomography Glimpse Series project. His story: Glimpse brings back memories.

Back in the days analogue photography didn’t scare me, I aimed and took my pictures without thinking of the outcome. Then came the digital era which took that experience away, I took my picture, a couple more (just in case) looked at the results and erased the failed ones.

Glimpse has kicked-off! The Cloud Cuckoo x Lomography Glimpse Series project had its debut with a friend of mine, Anne-Lise Heijdra, Art-Director for an agency in Rotterdam.

Background info tells us that her mother named her after a cute little girl with braids. Maybe that’s the reason she’s a fairytale-like type. She loves to see and make beautiful things. That’s why she’s an Art-Director; to create the things she likes.

With the first analog photo collective meetup on the roll there’s a new project called Glimpse starting on Cloud Cuckoo. Glimpse is a photo series by Cloud Cuckoo. The idea is simple.

I ask creative people to document one week of their lives by shooting photos with a Lomo Diana F+ camera which will be send to them with one (random) roll of film. By doing this they give us a glimpse about their lives and let us see things through their perspectives.

The camera and roll returns undeveloped and the photos will be published here on Cloud Cuckoo with a background story about the individual who took them.
