Julia Pott

Julia Pott

Julia Pott, part of the collective Treat Studios, is a British illustrator and animator living in Brooklyn. The artists statement notes Julia employs awkward animated characters to act out her inner confusions.

I really like her drawings as I found myself scrolling through her Flickr for a bit longer than I usually do, browsing through someone’s work.

You’ve probably seen her work around somewhere since she have done projects for numerous well known clients such as MTV, Etsy, J. Crew and Bat for Lashes. If not, I’m happy to introduce her work to you.

Vans Vault Spring 2012 by Tait Hawes

Tait Hawes is responsible for the new Vans Vault look book which is pretty rad. Tait Hawes is an Art Director from Los Angelos who has lots of involvement in various Vans design projects.

The Vans Vault spring summer 2012 look book gives us a glimpse at the coming products. It shows us the new Taka Hayashi models as well as new Vans Vault Era LX designs. All sketched and illustrated in a very nice style.

Daniel Frost

Daniel Frost

London based illustrator Daniel Frost has a playful style which I like very much. His work draws inspiration from the magical, weird and wonderful to create strange and playful characters. Daniel Frost has won the Oberon award for his illustrated version of Gulliver’s Travels.

His websites features a lot of his work over the last couple of years. The Kites series are quite remarkable. Not on the site but a true achievement are his t-shirt illustrations for the Norse Projects spring summer 2012 collection which I posted recently.

Brandon F. Wilson

Brandon F. Wilson

WAFA Collective Co-founder Brandon F. Wilson makes pretty stunning work. Born in Texas, living in Portland are some of the ingredients held responsible for the vivid art work. I like mixed media art in general and his makes no exception.

His work isn’t perfect but that’s the things that has the most appeal on me. It seems to capture my attention looking into it for some time and looking for patterns or hidden things that doesn’t actuallt have to be present. Clever work.

LESSCUAP

LESSCUAP

Sergei Sviatchenko is an artist born in the Ukraine and living in Denmark. He caught my eye with his LESSCUAP artwork series.

The art work is based on his CUAP fashion photography and were created with the purpose of taking the attention of the spectator away from the elements which are commercial objects and into the direction of abstract composition. He wanted to interrupt the normal line of thinking: “suit-tie-shirt” and instead of this use another line of thinking: “suit-tie-what is that?”.

Paper Donut

Paper Donut

Paper Donut is a french collective founded in September 2009. Directed by Alexis Facca it’s results from work of many hands: Justine Ricaud, Fanette Guilloud, Benoît Brulbault have already given their time to the collective.

The concept of this collective is based on geometrical paper volumes and space scenography. Have a look at a couple very nicely executed projects such as the 3D triangle representation in 2D on differents walls.

The brain city project

The brain city project

Yaron Steinberg is an illustrator, installation artist and graffiti artist from Israel. And he created this stunning ‘Brain City’ installation made of tons of different pieces.

The brains inner is a true world of its own. There are a lot of things happening just like you might expect from a Brain City.

Make sure to see the two video clips in the full post to see the awesomeness of this Brain City in action.

Illustrations by Liam Brazier

Illustrations by Liam Brazier

Today the Coggles Sunday Supplement landed in my inbox and it had a feature about Liam Brazier in it, amazing stuff.

Liam Brazier is a freelance illustrator and animator from the UK. I love his action heroes illustrations. He transformed Batman, a Storm Trooper, Spiderman, Superman and others into colorful pixelated art.

Enjoy.

Neli0

Neli0

I remember posting about Neli0 a long time ago on a previous blog I used to host. And yesterday I spotted some fresh work from this urban creative artist.

There is not much information about Neli0. What I do know is that he’s from France and makes stunning art. Have a look at some of his work in the full post.

Roman Opalka

Roman Opalka

Roman Opałka was a French-born Polish painter who painted numbers. In 1965 he began painting a process of counting – from one to infinity. Starting in the top left-hand corner of the canvas and finishing in the bottom right-hand corner, the tiny numbers were painted in horizontal rows.

Each “Detail” is a part of a greater idea conceived on that date. My work records the progression to infinity, through the first and the last number painted on the canvas.

As of July 2004, he had reached 5.5 million. On August 6th 2011, Roman Opalka completed his work: 5.607.249 “the finite defined by the nonfinite”

Cinemetrics

Cinemetrics

Cinemetrics by Frederic Brodbeck is about measuring and visualizing movie data, in order to reveal the characteristics of films and to create a visual “fingerprint” for them.

Information such as the editing structure, color, speech or motion are extracted, analyzed and transformed into graphic representations so that movies can be seen as a whole and easily interpreted or compared side by side.

Not only is all this very interesting, it’s also pretty stunning.

Caleb Owen Everitt

Caleb Owen Everitt

I got striked by the work and illustrations by Caleb Owen Everitt. Dope in every existing way. His iconic logo work for clients like Vans, Hufnagel makes me want to design one for Cloud Cuckoo yet I think it’s better to stick to some photography.

Either way, have a look at some of his work in the full blog post and visit his site for the full treat.

The Same But Different

The Same But Different

The Same But Different is an ongoing series by Jan Avendano, a graphic designer and illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. The serie is based off one underlying grid structure and made into individual pieces through the reinterpretation of said structure, colour and shape.

In short, awesome!
