What a great event. But man it was cold. I was asked to shoot some photos during The Fashion Track.
The Fashion Track is organised to celebrate the re-opening of the street. It was a spectacular open air fashion show involving bright stationary trams in which the actual catwalk took place.
Here is a selection of photos I took at The Fashion Track. It tells the story. View the post
A new Photo Bliss to start the week and to get rid of your Monday blues. It has been an insane time since the last Photo Bliss set. Sorry for that. I Hope the 30th Photo Bliss with a larger set of the finest Tumblr photos makes up for it.
I’m updating the Cloud Cuckoo Tumblr more frequently again. You might want to follow and pleasure yourself with great photography and inspiration.
Spring is coming and my wardrobe is in need for some new t-shirts. I found a couple new staples in the Norse Projects Niels Pocket Moulinex T-shirt. I got them in the color Leaf and Dark Shadow.
As for the fit. The Norse Projects Niels Pocket Moulinex model has a great fit and quality construction. It is made from a premium overdyed cotton featuring a chest pocket and woven Norse Projects label above the hem.
The van Oldenbarneveltstraat is about to re-open. Part of this happening is a fashion event called The Fashion Track.
The Fashion Track is a spectacular open air fashion show involving bright stationary trams in which the actual catwalk takes place. The event takes place on Saturday, March 23 in the Van Oldenbarneveltstraat in Rotterdam.
The entrepreneur collective of the van Oldenbarneveltstraat asked me to shoot the photo for the press release and also to shoot the event. Here’s the photo for the press release. Can’t wait to shoot some photos at The Fashion Track on March 23.
Yes! I’ve been looking for a pair of decent boots for some time now. It took some time to hunt these down but finally found out that Harvest had these still in stock.
The Maine Guide 5-Eye DB Boot is a modern interpretation of what is probably the most recognized silhouette to come out of the Yuketen workshops, perfectly demonstrating Yuki Matsuda’s expert eye for detail and love of heritage American footwear. Crafted from the finest materials available, this timeless style is a chukka height version of the classic North American huntsman boot, updated with a Vibram sole for unsurpassed comfort and durability.
Another steal during the AW12 sale season. This time it’s the Norse Projects Richard Boucle T-shirt that recently arrived at my doorstep. I ordered this one at The Next Door.
Courtesy of Copenhagen’s Norse Projects. The Richard Boucle tee is constructed from a premium cotton jersey with subtle multi-coloured speckled detailing.
Regarded by many as the quintessential NB shoe, the 576 incorporates everything that makes Flimby’s finest so great. This edition marks the 25th anniversary of the classic 576 with an original colourway. As always these New Balance shoes feature the famous C-Cap cushioning system and large N on the side. The uppers are constructed from a premium brushed pigskin and mesh combination. Still made in Flimby, this shoe is a true classic in any guise.
I believe seeing the online shop we made for Minishop Confetti made Mae Engelgeer of Designer Studio Mae Engelgeer give me a call. She was was curious about the possibilities to have her own custom online shop. Mae Engelgeer had the wish to have an online shop to sell more than just her own products like products from designers like Fellow Fellow, Adonde, Riikka Kantinkoski, Lennebelle. Therefor, a new name Magasin Mae was branded.
And sure, I helped her out with her own online shop. The site and shop for Magasin Mae is completed with some custom functionality. The mouse-over effects, the option to self determine the layout of a page, custom buttons within the site and many others make the Magasin Mae shop to one of our best E-commerce work so far.
Curious about the project? Head over to the portfolio section and read all about it.
After 9 months of waiting she’s finally here! Our daughter Mette Elba van Dongen was born last Tuesday on January 8th in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
I Really can’t tell how special this is and how proud I am of Len and of course Mette. These women complete my life right now.
We have a way of introducing her to the world. That resembles her long journey to our home. View her birth announcement in the full post or go straight to www.mette-elba.nl
I always spend more than anticipated during sale season but this one most definitely is worth every penny. Straight from The Bureau in Belfast comes the Inis Meain Dubh Shawl Collar Jacket.
This knit is made of a Merino/Cashmere mix and features a full button jacket style with cable knit detail, shawl collar, cuffs and hem. The Dubh colorway blend perfect with some of my other clothes. A keeper.
The Mark McNairy Long Wing Brogue in Burgundy Wax ordered at End Clothing came in first as one of the steals during this sale season.
These Mark McNairy Long Wing Brogue shoes are designed by Mark McNairy, the New Amsterdam collection is a merging of modern with heritage design to great effect. Using the finest materials and incorporating McNairy’s astute eye for detail, this classic American long wing brogue features waxed leather uppers and an English Dainite non-slip sole provides perfect wet weather traction.
Santa left me in neglectance last year but this year he rewarded my patience by getting me the Freunde von Freunden book. As expected the book is a perfect read for doing up some inspiration of day to day habits by creative folks.
Freunde von Freunden (FvF) is an international interview magazine, that portraits people of diverse creative and cultural backgrounds in their homes or within their daily working environments.
Ever since the release of the platform I often find myself on the Freunde von Freunden website. Not only in search for new stories. But also for new FvF mixtape releases.

A special one this year. This Christmas we’ll be together with the three (Len, Jack the cat and myself) of us in expectance of our little misses who is bound to arrive any moment now. At home (our amazing retreat) we had our Christmas breakfast in style. Even Jack joined us at the table after presenting him some of his favourite snacks.
A lovely morning with the best company I could have wish for. Cosy, just the way we like it! I just had to shoot some photos of it.
